The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was established in 2016 in a bid to train more manpower in Electrical & Electronics Engineering both the Power and Instrumentation & Control Option. It is therefore with the aforesaid in mind that the department endeavors develop skills and manpower in Electrical & Electronics Engineering by producing competent Electrical & Electronics Engineering graduates who are locally and internationally recognized. This is in line with the realization of the government vision of 2030 and the millennium development goals.



Objectives

The objectives of the Department are to:

•  Promote high standards in training, teaching, research and scholarship.
•  Provide manpower needs for Kenya & other countries by offering Technical Education & training areas in Electrical & Electronics.
•  To produce engineers who are professionally recognized in their areas of specialization.

Courses Offered

The Department has two main sections, namely:
      • Power Section
      • Instrumention & Control Section
The courses offered in the Department are at Artisan, Craft Certificate and Diploma levels and are examined by Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). Plans are underway to become a NITA Exam Centre.
The department has two equipped mordern workshops. Electrical workshops & Electronics laboratory.
