Our primary strength lies in our students, faculty and staff. The Building & Civil Engineering Department has well equipped workshops as well as adequate facilities for teaching and training.
The department offers Diploma, Certificate and Artisan courses. The diploma programmes in particular, continues to attract a lot of suitable candidates making the department one of the largest in the Institute. In order to keep abreast with the needs of the economy, the courses and teaching methodology are continuously revised to meet the needs of students and of the developing economy.
Trainees from the department can be employed in ever growing building and civil Engineering industry. potential employers include real estate development companies, building and construction companies, ministry of works, Kenya National Highways Authority, Standard Gauge Railway Project. Graduates can also pursue careers in research institutions or further their studies in building and civil engineering in higher institutions
